That sounds so lame doesn’t it. Like the script of a bad Hollywood nerd movie. Yet that’s what Facebook appears to be selling…And Washington’s State Department appears to be buying in a big way.

The world of Facebook is awash in followers who are not what they seem. In January, Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge posted “It’s a Click Farm World,” about the illusion of millions of followers.
