While I have long respected Donald Trump for his business acumen, he was certainly not my choice for president. Aside from a thinking man’s aversion to egregious taxation, he was not a conservative by any measure I used. Donald J. Trump was a populist.
I began the 2016 election season, a Paleoconservative (and still am). Nostalgic for the days of Ron Paul, I campaigned, and voted for Rand Paul in the Republican primary, only a little disappointed that he was not the perfect candidate.
However, a funny thing happened on the way to the primary: Beginning a couple of months before the Republican primary, I began to be aware of a screeching noise from the left. A daily barrage of attacks on Donald Trump, the likes of which I’ve never heard before.
Are They Really That Stupid?
Trump? You leftists are attacking Donald Trump? Don’t you know that he is more liberal than many of the other Republican candidates?
I found myself in the unenviable position of defending a candidate whom I did not support. “If you’re going to attack him, attack the evil that you can prove to be true” I would tell them.
- “No, as a matter of fact, Trump was not caught in a Moscow hotel, playing golden showers with a bed full of hookers.”
- “No, as a matter of fact, Trump never said ‘Mexicans are rapists.’ What he said was that some illegal aliens are rapists.” Which is true.
- “No, as a matte of fact, Trump is NOT a racist. What in the world would prompt you to spew something so insane?”
- And so on…
I resented having to explain to these mental midgets on the left (but I repeat myself) that these gross lies, repeated as truth, would backfire on them. But the hateful lies continued unabated.
Shooting at Trump, Hurting Themselves
As time went by, and the vitriol got worse, I began to learn more about Donald Trump the man. Consequently, by the time the primary was over, and Rand Paul lost, I was only too happy to throw my support behind Trump.
During the months leading up to the 2016 general election, the incessant screeching intensified, and the lies got more ridiculous.
The constant, pounding drumbeat of daily diatribes began to have an effect. The left succeeded in pushing me away from a willingness to compromise, or be conciliatory in any way.
I was energized by the Trump campaign. And for the first time in a long time, I was hopeful about the future of the United States as a nation. The prospect of a Donald Trump presidency made me smile.
Fake News Targets Trump
Meanwhile… the entrenched corporate media, which long ago abandoned any semblance of objective journalism, went after Trump with a vengeance. Since the days of Hearst and Duranty, they have spent decades perfecting the art of shaping public opinion. And though I have been awakened to this fact for years, even I, an irrepressible optimist, found myself doubting our chances.
The propaganda was so pervasive, so relentless… I began to feel that I should not ignore the [apparently] overwhelming wave of support for Hillary Clinton.
When we put our children to bed on November 8th, 2016 we fully expected to wake up to a Hillary Clinton victory. During dinner, my son asked “Dad, is Donald Trump going to win the election?” My wife and I chuckled darkly, and she said “No honey, Hillary is going to win.”
American’s Weren’t Fooled
I was sitting at my desk about 10:30 that night, and, out of habit, opened a browser window so I could go live stream the results on YouTube and see how bad it was….
…Whisky. Tango. Alpha. Foxtrot…. Over… Trump was in the lead!
I opened another tab with the New York Times election map so I could get the results in real time (Yes. I know. It is only a whole 60 seconds or so before the live broadcast. But dammit, I was excited 🙂 ).
I watched streaming coverage, primarily on Louder With Crowder. But I checked in often with the leftist media as well…
Trump Derangement Syndrome
When I went to bed at 02:30 after election night. I was too excited to sleep. A heavy weight had been lifted from my shoulders. And my stress level had decreased by several orders of magnitude. So much win!

Trump: His Gravitas & Dignity
A man earns the respect of other men, by proving himself to be one who says what he means, means what he says, and exhibits a willingness to sacrifice himself for a common cause. Dark speeches, subtlety, and subterfuge are for weasels like Mitch McConnell, Grima Wormtongue, Chuck Shumer, and the vast majority of politicians.
For those who whine that Trump “isn’t presidential,” stop and have a look at the political class, as far back as you like. With very few exceptions… The spineless ‘milquetoastery,’ the harrumphing about “statesmanship,” the sound & fury & feigned bravado resulting in yet another compromise exhibited by the establishment has been nauseating.*
*Once we begin to follow the thread that this behaviour leads to… it will take us down a rabbit hole that may shock you.
Look at the accomplishments of a man. Not his flowery speeches, his vocabulary, his posturing, or his predilection for ingratiating himself with foreign heads of State.
I am pleased that we finally have a president who is forthright and unambiguous in his speech. I am excited that we have a fighter, who puts the will of the people, and the good of the United States first and foremost.
The more I learn about Donald Trump the man, the more I respect him as a human being.
Trump is a Cat Person!
If you’re still obsessing over Trump’s “grab ‘em by the pussy” remark, then you either did not listen to his remarks in context… or you have forgotten the finer points of interpersonal dynamics.
To refresh, Trump was speaking about his attraction to beautiful women:
Trump: “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. I just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
Unidentified man: “Whatever you want?”
Trump: “Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.”
News Flash: Real Men Enjoy Women
He is stating a simple fact. And I challenge you to refute it. Look around you. From high school to high finance, watch how people behave.
- The star athletes get the hot girls.
- Infantry Marines get the hot girls.
- The high performing sales guys get the hot girls.
- Entertainers get the hot girls.
- Powerful men get the hot girls.
- and so on…
Politicians are awash in women, because the seat of power in any field, but particularly finance and politics, is a world that is lubricated with pussy and money. And if you haven’t figured that out yet then you have allowed yourself to be sorely maleducated.
You can either understand how the world works and deal with it, or sit upon your high horse demanding that the world meet your expectations of the mythical courtly love found in chivalric fiction.
As for me, I’m going to give my time and effort to supporting Donald Trump 2020… And enjoying women.
